Are you looking to keep your employees happy and engaged at work? If so, you're not alone. Employers are making employee happiness a top priority, and they understand that happy employees do the best work.

It's true - one study found that happy employees are up to 20% more productive than unhappy employees. So it's in your best interest to promote employee engagement activities that make your employees happy and make your office a better place to be.

Employees who are happy also stay with their companies longer. If you want higher employee retention, keep reading to find out our favorite engagement activities you can start doing right now.

The Best Employee Engagement Activities

Even if you have a small office and a small budget, there are things you can do to boost employee happiness. Here are three employee engagement activities to try in your office right now.

1. Host a Volunteer Day

Volunteering is a great way to give your employees a fun day out of the office, while still giving back to the community. There are probably dozens of organizations in your community that would love your employees to come help them out for a day.

This is really a win-win situation because your employees get to build teamwork skills while a nonprofit gets some much-needed help. Another bonus of this is your company may get a tax break for the time. So you'll also be making a wise business decision.

2. Give Regular Rewards

Employee engagement activities shouldn't just happen once a year. These activities should be a regular thing, if possible. But you don't have to go all out every time.

Small activities will go a long way in the eyes of your employees. Even something as small as a company happy hour or free lunch on a Friday can do a lot to boost morale on your team.

Try and reward your employees once a month or once a quarter. Giving them something to look forward to will help them work harder day-to-day.

3. Provide Learning Opportunities

Another great idea is to combine your engagement activities with a learning experience. "Lunch and learns" are gaining popularity at companies because they're a fun break from the regular work day, but still encourage employee growth.

Invite in guest speakers or have different departments share their knowledge with others. These activities are the perfect way to educate your employees on the latest industry trends while still giving them a small reward for working hard.

Find Great Talent For Your Office

Employee engagement activities are a great way to promote team bonding while overall making your office a fun place to be.

Your employees sometimes spend more time in the office than they do at home, so it's important to keep them happy and motivated to do a good job every day. While hosting fun activities is important, it's also important to have quality employees.
