Purpose  

Our client is seeking a highly motivated, ambitious Business Application Specialist to join our growing Indirect Purchasing Team at our client corporate headquarters in Virginia Beach. This person will be responsible for coordinating the efforts associated with the Ariba purchasing application at our client. This includes acting as a customer administrator role for the application, overseeing new feature introduction, supporting error triage and resolution, supporting ongoing system improvements, and managing/updating workflows. 


Job Duties & Responsibilities

•       Acts as a main point of contact for higher-level Ariba system questions/challenges

•       Works cross-functionally with IT, Finance, and Ariba as part of a support team to cover the end-to-end functionality of the system

•       Handles IT Helpdesk tickets related to Ariba support including access requests, errors, and improvement requests

•       Issues support cases to Ariba for advanced assistance and participates in weekly cross-functional program management calls

•       Applies purchasing process requirements and best practices to the system configuration considering corporate compliance and policies

•       Manage supplier training, onboarding, and enablement. 

•       Support data cleansing and maintain the master data (commodity code mapping, supplier management, etc.)

•       Organize, facilitate, and oversee system testing with cross-functional teams 

•       Oversee and manage change management and communication associated with the system and underlying processes

•       Attends training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits, and trade shows as needed in order to maintain currency with respect to technical and professional skills. 

•       Monitors new system functionality (e.g. Ariba quarterly releases) and best practices from other customers 

•       Continues to drive innovative process improvements and efficiencies within the system and overall workflow

•       Conducts training of Purchasing team members and end users on the Ariba application

•       Supports the maintenance and updating of eCatalogs in Ariba

•       Maintains approval workflows (requisitions, contract requests, supplier requests, etc.)

•       Updates and maintains quick reference guides for all pertinent system functionality for Purchasing users, Suppliers, and internal end users 


Specifications

•       Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Business, IT, or other relevant area preferred

•       4+ years of related experience 

•       Experienced with best practice procurement processes and business process (re)engineering

•       Advanced knowledge of the Ariba application, preferably from a system administrator standpoint with a particular focus on a full suite enabled system (P2P/Buying and invoicing, Sourcing, Contracts, SLP, Ariba Network) Advanced leadership and teamwork skills.

•       Strong communication and presentation skills at all organizational levels.

•       Proven experience with requirements gathering and translating to functional specifications in the system
