Manage the regional quality control of all frozen and perishable distribution operations to ensure accuracy on all receiving and shipping functions.
Oversee quality control, loss prevention, worker safety and asset protection, food safety, sanitation, quality standards for stored product and 3rd party warehouse audits.
Inspect produce deliveries to ensure product adheres to contract and USDA specifications.
Approve or reject deliveries in accordance with Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) procedures.
Manage a Quality Control team of 35.
Provide guidance, communication, support a positive work environment, hire, train and develop new team members and manage the HR policies and procedures.
Manage budget formulation process, expenses, labor costs and increase productivity.
Manage inventory and receiving discrepancies and ensure corrections prior to shipment, implement controls to limit shipment errors.
Liaise between third-party suppliers in merchandising, transportation and inventory control to resolve issues.
BS/BA or AS. 5+ years management experience with Perishables, Meat, Frozen, Produce in a food distribution environment.
Experienced in managing a workforce of 30+.
Knowledgeable of managing budgets, food safety, sanitation, quality standards, USDA specifications and Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) procedures.
Travel 25%. East Coast facilities. 5 day work week, flexible work schedule.
2 DC locations totaling 425K sq. ft. with 3 temp zones and 50 docks receiving and distributing 50mm frozen and perishable cases annually, supplying multiple retail grocery locations. Manage a Quality Control team of 35. Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Company Match on 401K Plan, PTO, holidays.
