RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a good role model to personnel and co-workers for safe work practices.
• Formulates and maintains a timely master schedule of production for the plant incorporating the Sales Forecast, customer orders, and established manufacturing planning parameters, manufacturing capacities, and planned inventory levels.
• Works with Manager to plan and coordinate production schedules.
• Monitor workflow and schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
• Develop effective scheduling process to achieve production objectives.
• Order and stock adequate materials to avoid any shortages.
• Oversees periodic work-in-process inventory.
• Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
• Communicates with purchasing department to resolve potential or realized material issues shortages.
• Review production specifications, identify, and report plant capacity constraints.
• Works as needed to meet production demands.
• Conduct supply and demand analysis.
• Proactively works toward continuous improvement of processes and systems used in planning and scheduling to improve adherence to production schedules.
• Abides by and enforces all company standard operating, quality procedures, and all safety requirements for the job. Reports any safety hazards that he or she may see to the department manager.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Prefer 3+ years of prior production planning and scheduling in a multi-step manufacturing facility environment.
• Must possess strong communication skills, leadership qualities and be self-motivated
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Must possess basic computer skills. Experience with JD Edwards a plus.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and provide quick responses to production problems.
• Must be able to work in heat, cold, humidity and noise and use hearing protection in designated areas.
