The Indirect Sourcing Lead will be for leading the global indirect supply chain function by developing and implementing strategic sourcing processes, tools, and templates. Accountable for developing and implementing supply chain strategies, setting policy and compliance reporting, maintaining tools and processes, and leveraging global resources to optimize total cost of ownership and performance. To coach, train and constantly reinforce Strategic Sourcing processes and tools to drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
Develop, maintain and coach the global supply chain groups on the indirect strategic sourcing process and standard work that supports the objectives for indirect material and services productivity initiatives for the BUs. This would include actions to rationalize the supply base, leverage the material and services spend with other business units, and negotiate & implement Long Term Supplier Agreements when applicable.
Lead on-going development and refinement of indirect spend management tools and process including; iAnalyze, iManage, iSource, and process documentation, including maintenance, improvements, and training for the Indirect procurement function. This includes but is not limited to spend analysis data accuracy on supplier names and classification, and the development of iManage and iSource templates for specific categories of spend.
Maintain Corporate Supply Chain SharePoint site for Indirect Process, Initiates and Data & Infor pages.
Improve the intellectual capital of the personnel involved with Supply Chain through the design and implementation of professional development programs aimed at elevating affected employees’ skill set, knowledge and contribution levels.
Actively identify leveraging opportunities across business units and lead efforts to use that leverage to optimize cost and performance.
Maintain awareness of industry trends and world markets for key indirect spend categories including; freight, MRO, IT, travel, energy and HR services.
Establish and lead Commodity Councils and project teams to identify and action improvement and savings opportunities, including Freight, MRO, and others as needed. This will also include the Indirect Sourcing Council.
Support ad/hoc indirect projects for the corporate team. This may include negotiations and/or strategic sourcing projects.
Facilitate Annual Business Reviews with suppliers on key global programs to review quality, delivery and cost performance, progress on strategic initiatives and ensure on-going strategic alignment between company and the Supplier.
Consistent with Business System, participates, facilitates, and leads Kaizen events that will eliminate waste, improve pull and one-piece flow, and deliver breakthrough results in Growth, Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost throughout the Supply Chain.
Engenders a spirit of cooperation throughout the supply chain to insure responsiveness to the customer.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Supply Chain and /or Procurement related role, including roles responsible for developing and implementing indirect spend – global sourcing strategies.
Extensive hands on experience managing strategic indirect spend categories including freight & logistics, MRO, IT, travel, energy and HR services.
Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence up, down, and across organizational lines.
Strong team building and project management
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions.
Proven expertise in developing supplier quality systems and supplier performance metrics.
Knowledge/experience with eSourcing tools (Zycus preferred).
Willingness to travel up to 25% - 50%.
Knowledge of Microsoft office suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, MS project, etc.).
BS/BA in business or technical discipline. An MBA is desired.
Certification in APICS and/or ISM is highly desired.
