OVERVIEW
We
are looking for a Director of Operations to drive the supply chain and
manufacturing for our CPG health food startup. Ample is on a mission to make
good nutrition so simple that everyone can lead a healthier, more productive
life. We create satisfying, drinkable meals made from nutritious ingredients
for busy, health-conscious people. This is a broad, robust role, and thus
requires a strong foundation in food manufacturing and supply chain – including
knowledge of working with contract manufacturers, vendor partners, business
processes, shipping/fulfillment, demand planning, and analytics. The right
candidate must be a strong troubleshooter who can enhance business processes
for scalability but be flexible enough to embrace the energy and
entrepreneurial spirit of a startup and enjoy discovering effective ways to
optimize the business and add value. The role is an opportunity to help build a
global food brand, setting the standard for what it means to be a sustainable,
scientifically valid, and transparent food company health food company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own
strategic projects and initiatives – you will help determine the
landscape, research alternative options and advocate for direction that
will help optimize the company operationally and financially
- Revise
and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation
- Help manage relationships/agreements
with external partners/vendors, including our contract manufacturer
- Responsible
for owning and guiding team toward optimizing manufacturing and
shipping/fulfillment KPIs
- Work with
food scientist team to ensure that the company runs with legality and
conformity to established regulations
- Work with
finance and marketing to plan production volumes for new and existing
products, balancing cash flow management and customer demand
- Assist with
supply chain management and improving forecast accuracy
- Assist in
risk assessment and mitigation activities
- Evaluate
regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to
organizational objectives and apply improvements
- Work with
logistics and fulfillment and supply chain to launch products in new
channels such as retail
- Assist with
managing contract manufacturer with managing procurement processes,
coordinating material and resource allocation
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent
organizational and leadership abilities
- Ability to
troubleshoot and drive strong outcomes
- 5+ years of
manufacturing/CPG/supply chain experience, combining breadth with depth.
- Food
manufacturing experience
- Familiarity
with Google Sheets, excel, and various business software
- BSc/BA
- Outstanding
communication and people skills
- Experience
in food and/or ecommerce company a big plus
- Knowledge
and experience with diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply
chain, contract manufacturing, etc.)
