 Executes and implements effective procurement strategies, from source selection to contract implementation, new supplier identification, portfolio optimization and engagement in the development and implementation of the global commodity strategy. Executes short-term and long-term strategies that align with the Company goals. Responsible for negotiating, coordinating, and assuring that assigned categories are purchased at the lowest total cost of ownership. Assess near-term and long-term plans to establish that supplier priorities are balanced with business needs. Consults with Sr. Management, and other subject matter experts to develop alternative solutions. Advises on options, risks, total cost of ownership, and business impacts.

  • Executes category sourcing strategies that support aggressive improvements in total cost of ownership models
  • Uses current spend data, cross-functional input and category knowledge to identify and act on cost savings opportunities
  • Benchmark, tracks and reports monthly on internal KPI’s and supplier scorecard performance
  • Implements supplier management programs ensuring performance goals and contractual requirements are met and improved year over year
  • Communicates with suppliers to ensure date submittals align with new program introductions an overall program timelines
  • Collaborates cross functionally to execute and award RFQ’s
  • Develops global expertise in target commodity and a thorough understanding of demand/supply market dynamics. Conducts vendor and market research including analysis of next generation vendors
  • Leads vendor rationalization initiatives within spend categories
  • Support plant material and quality escalations as needed. Works cooperatively across the business to assess the quality capabilities of new and existing suppliers to ensure that all product/material purchases meet defined quality standards
  • Functions as a liaison between suppliers and internal customers to maintain effective business partnerships
  • Provides timely and accurate vendor management information to internal customers and key stakeholders
  • Gather feedback from internal stakeholder’s on vendor performance; identifies concerns and drives corrective action measures with suppliers
  • Prepares and executes contract negotiations including contract redlines
  • Identifies and escalates potential commercial and operational risks. Identifies potential critical supply disruption points in upstream value chain and formulates an effective strategy for mitigation
  • Serves as a key contributor to the make vs. buy analysis
  • Drives ongoing cost reductions through the implementation of Value Add and value Engineering initiatives. Provides recommendations on strategic design improvements to Program Procurement and Engineering to minimize total cost of ownership



  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ of relevant work experience in a global manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with stamping commodity favored
  • Certification(s) in Purchasing Management (NAPU) or other recognized purchasing certifications
  • Negotiations training required
  • Project Management training preferred
  • Mandatory SOX experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification desired
  • Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions with experience negotiating and redlining multi-million dollar contracts
  • Must be a strong collaborator with a track record of working effectively with internal company personnel and senior executives
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a proactive and positive manner and the ability to work on teams or independently
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to plan/lead and manage multiple initiatives under tight timeframes with a sense of urgency
  • Understanding of financial and contractual related work flows
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications and proficiency in use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience with SAP or other major ERP system required
  • Ability to travel as needed, including internationally
  • Spanish fluency a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
